EDI Monitoring Automation — 20% Ticket Reduction

Challenge
Recurring middleware failures were generating a steady stream of reactive tickets. Errors only surfaced after the fact, requiring manual investigation each time with no early-warning system to catch patterns before they repeated.
Approach
Analysed recurring error patterns across the EDI monitoring workflow. Proposed and implemented automated alerting that surfaced failures with full error context as soon as they appeared in the middleware tracking portal — before they escalated into business disruptions. Implemented permanent root-cause fixes for the patterns driving the most volume.
Outcome
20% reduction in ticket volume. Recognised with the Henkel Sieger Award (Delivery Champion) for continuous improvement in the EDI support process.

EDI Map Changes Across X12, EDIFACT, and VDA

Challenge
When Henkel's customers or business teams require changes to EDI mapping specifications — updated field logic, changed partner requirements, new transaction variants — those changes must be implemented accurately in live middleware without disrupting ongoing document flows.
Approach
Coordinated with business stakeholders and trading partners to understand mapping requirements. Implemented changes in OpenText GXS (TGMS) and Seeburger B2B mapping tools per the agreed specifications. Validated translated message integrity through middleware testing before promoting changes to production. Applied across ANSI X12 (810/830/850/855/856/862/997), EDIFACT, and VDA standards.
Outcome
Delivered mapping changes for trading partners across WE, CEE, NA, LA, and APAC with no production incidents caused by mapping changes, earning multiple client appreciations.

Middleware Error Resolution Across Global Regions

Challenge
When EDI document flows fail — purchase orders, ASNs, invoices between Henkel and its trading partners — the right business teams need accurate information quickly. Slow or unclear communication turns a middleware error into a supply chain disruption.
Approach
Monitored document flows across OpenText GXS, Seeburger B2B, and GIB tracking portals. On failure: analysed the error to identify root cause, communicated findings with full context to the relevant business team, then implemented the fix — whether a mapping correction, an IDoc reprocessing, or an SAP-side EDI user exit fix. Handled P1/P2 incidents within SLA across WE, CEE, NA, LA, and APAC.
Outcome
Zero SLA escalations on high-priority incidents. Received a dedicated Recognition Award for resolving tickets without escalations, including sustained North America shift coverage.

I'm Vijeth Pereira — a Senior Integration Engineer at Henkel, based in Bengaluru, India. I work in the DXV/EDI Customer Integrations Hub (GTC), keeping Henkel's B2B EDI integrations running reliably across a global trading partner network.

With over 5 years in the consumer goods, retail, and manufacturing sectors, I specialise in EDI integration support — X12/ANSI, EDIFACT, VDA — across SAP IDocs, ALE, and middleware platforms (OpenText GXS, Seeburger B2B, GIB). My day-to-day is monitoring document flows, diagnosing failures fast, and making sure the right business teams get accurate information before errors become disruptions.
